چکیده

Advancements in the development of gamma-ray spectrometers (GRS) have led to small and lightweight that can be used under unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Airborne GRS measurements are determine radionuclide concentrations ground, among which natural occurring radionuclides 40K, 238U, 232Th. For successful applications these sensors, it is important absolute values measured. To extract concentrations, airborne data has corrected for measurement height. However, current analysis models only valid height range 50–250 m. The purpose this study develop a procedure correctly predicts true concentration ground when measuring UAV operating 0–40 An analytical model developed predict radiation footprint as function This tool properly source-detector geometry Monte-Carlo simulations detector response at various elevations between 0 40 smallest achievable 10 m lies 22 91 140 20 By using shown reduction full energy peak gamma-rays, but does not Compton continuum spectrum Therefore, should shape intensity spectra A finite set intervals 5 were heights up 35 resulting every agree with measured on ground.

Multichannel processing for airborne gamma-ray spectrometry

The conventional approach to the processing of airborne gamma-ray spectrometric data is to first sum the observed spectra over three relatively broad energy windows. These three window count rates are then processed to obtain estimates of the potassium (K), uranium (U), and thorium (Th) elemental abundances. However, multichannel spectra contain additional information on the concentrations of K...

Producing 65Zn and 60Co gamma sources for energy and efficiency calibration of gamma spectrometry systems

Precise calibration of energy and efficiency of gamma spectrometry systems for different geometries is very important. In most cases, preparation of these sources for educational and research centers  is very difficult due to high costs and lack of access to the reactor. The purpose of this paper is to explain the procedure for production of calibration sources 65Zn and 60Co using instrumental ...

Future Facilities for Gamma-Ray Pulsar Studies

Pulsars seen at gamma-ray energies offer insight into particle acceleration to very high energies, along with information about the geometry and interaction processes in the magnetospheres of these rotating neutron stars. During the next decade, a number of new gamma-ray facilities will become available for pulsar studies. This brief review describes the motivation for gamma-ray pulsar studies,...

Monte Carlo Simulation for Airborne Gamma Ray Spectrometry

The aerial measuring terrestrial gamma radiation from airborne platforms is a useful method for characterizing the radiation levels over large areas. Because of the advantage of Monte Carlo method, it is very suitable for simulation of gamma ray transport and interaction with media (soil, air, aircraft and detector), which offer alternative means of estimating detector response and calibration ...
